Hi Becky

Further to our conversation earlier this afternoon I set out below the email exchange with the police licensing officer. Please can this be included in the papers for Friday.

I may ask for the correspondence with the EHO to be included but wish to speak with Annie before submitting this.

Kind regards

Robert

Good Afternoon Robert,

Thank you and Happy New year to you too.

The crime stats are in, and with the proposed operating schedule, Sussex Police will not raise a representation when the application comes in.

Thank you for pre consulting and for working with me

Kind Regards

Good Morning Robert,

Sorry for the delay, I have spoken with my Inspector and he has advised if you would like to submit the application so the consultation period can start that is understandable. We can’t make a decision if we will rep until we have run a crime statistics report which could take up to a week.

I have noted you have pre-consulted and sent an operating schedule to us which will be considered.

I hope this helps, thank you for emailing to inform of the application

Kind Regards

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your email.

I will look over the operating schedule today for you, however I will have to raise with my Inspector the fact this is for a 24/7 alcohol licence.

The likelihood will be that Sussex Police will raise a representation to this application.

I think it would be a good idea to update the conditions, do you know when you would like to submit this variation?

Many Thanks

Hi Hannah

I hope you are well?

We act for BP Oil UK Limited. BP is the licence holder at the BP/Marks & Spencer store at 373 Kingsway Hove BM3 4QD.

The premises licence authorises the sale of alcohol 0800 to 2300 and LNR 2300 to 0500. The conditions are somewhat  dated. I suspect the licence has not been touched since conversion in 2005.

Most of the BP/M&S stores are now licensed 24/7. They operate slightly differently to most of the petrol stations in that they are at least double manned during the night. The doors are locked and the cashier has a remote door “opener”. In other words the cashier can let a customer into the shop if he or she feels safe to do so. But if the store is, for whatever reason, single manned the night pay window would be used.

I am instructed to submit a variation application but would like to try and agree an operating schedule with you. This would replace the existing licence conditions. I attach a suggested operating schedule and should be grateful for your comments.

Kind regards

Robert
